Italy-Serbia: potential to expand military cooperation between the two Countries

BELGRADE. Prime Minister Miloš Vučević spoke today with Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Italy, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, about bilateral relations, the current security situation in the region and military cooperation between the two countries.

Vučević pointed out that Serbia’s strategic commitment is membership in the European Union, stressing that we will be a cooperative partner to all countries in the Western Balkans region, as well as EU members.

The Prime Minister said that Serbia remains fully committed to promoting peace and dialogue and preserving stability in the region.

He assessed that the engagement of members of the Italian Armed Forces in the KFOR mission is very important for the protection of the Serbian population and the maintenance of peace and stability in Kosovo and Metohija.

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to Admiral Cavo Dragone for the professionalism and dedication of the Italian soldiers to this very important task.

Admiral Cavo Dragone agreed with the assessment that relations between Serbia and Italy are at a high level and added that there are opportunities for further improvement and expansion of military cooperation between the two countries.
